Hmm I’ve decided (perhaps a long while ago) that I don’t really care anymore. And that probably explains why I sauntered the whole time this morning and I wasn’t panicking at all when I left the house at 830.

As I walked into the train, I told myself ‘so this is how it feels like to live day by day’. Then I paused and corrected myself ‘hour by hour’.

How depressing.

On a sidenote, one of the male staff here permed his hair! So now he looks like pck lol. And he’s only in his late 20s btw. I overheard an interesting convo between 2 female staff about his new hairdo:

A: what happened to his hair? He looks so weird!
B: I asked him what happened and he said he wanted volume. Haha.
A: volume?? I’ve never heard of a guy who wants volume
B: exactly! Now he has a currypok head!

Another one of the staff thought he was wearing a wig and asked if she could pull his hair lol.

Oh well, nobody really knew what kinda shock he underwent. But it did add some excitement into everyone’s Monday I guess. Haha. This place is gravely quiet 99% of the time. Ap said she could hear me crunching my apple very loudly even though she’s seated like 4m away. Just for illustration purposes, even a whisper here sounds like a supersonic boom. (and there is no exaggeration involved)

and so i've realised that pple think that i look like an old granny when i wear my specs. sigh. i always thought i looked quite nice in my specs so i'd try to wear it along the corridors for fun sometimes. well, what an embarrassment! ap says my specs shape is weird.. really? i chose it after trying on so many other pairs leh. ts said i looked so bad that although he only saw me wore it once or twice, he completely remembers how i looked in them. sighhh.

i really think i don't have an affinity with specs. i was trying on ap's specs yesterday and both ww and her were speechless. i suspect i looked like some geek from the 80s lol. ww tried to put it as nicely as possible, she said that i looked 'weird'. lol. so well, when the ever-nice ww says something like that, i think i really looked like crap. then i tried on jason's specs; his were those frameless type. the rest said i should have just chosen the frameless type, but when i saw the photo of myself in those specs, i personally think i look even more like some teacher-like granny! well fortunately for me, i'd only have to look weird during lessons/lectures lol.

k on hindsight. i remember how i ALWAYS look like crap when i try on most pple's specs. fine. i shall minimise wearing specs.

anyway, we were also discussing about aging. and i've come to the conclusion that it's ok (albeit a little sad) to grow old as long as you age gracefully. we noticed that some pple around us aged really nicely, but most of the others.. well.. aged not as gracefully haha. so fellow aging females, it's time to stock up on anti-aging products this very second!

haha even though i'd be seeing the same pple, but i think it'd be fun. believe it or not, i haven't been to any 21st parties this whole year! my friends seem to prefer casual dinners; understandable but unexciting. haha.

i shall now officially promote you to ‘Professional Claims Analyst’

ok my boss didn’t exactly say that, but looking at the work that is given to us, I should think we have been ‘promoted’ to that position. I think I need to crunch on carrots every night now. Staring at excel and looking at the claims one by one is really quite detrimental to my eyes. Btw I tried raw carrots for the first time yesterday and even though it was organic, it tasted quite horrible. It was kinda bitter? A little alkaline-like? And it’s only vaguely sweet. So i don’t quite understand why my dad and oakey enjoy chewing on raw carrots so much. Gross. I think I’d stick with raw baby carrots – sweet and soft lol.

I’m watching this new drama called ‘defeated queen’, it’s about this successful and smart 33 year old female who is a workaholic and hence single, until ethan ruan comes along.
so it’s a puma-little boy* type of love. What forbidden love. Ok I know I’m conservative, but 8 years leh! That’s almost a decade! She should have just gone with her snr. Oh btw mari told me that it actually happens in real life – her female boss is like that!! Tsk tsk.

anyway I think I’m getting old. I feel it. SIGHHHHHHHHHHH. 21 years old is really very very old. I’m getting embarrassed when people ask about my age. Now I understand why older women are so sensitive about their age and wen refused to celebrate her 21st bday in jan lol. Birthdays just remind us that we’re getting older.
