omg i can't believe this is happening to me. i lost my laptop battery!! it's so ridiculous! i think the last time i used it was on thursday when i was watching my drama on the dining table. then after that i left it by the stairs. hmm but i can't rmb if i brought it into my room, and if i did, i thought that i put it in my drawer. but apparently not.. oh no.

i hope it appears soon! what is a laptop without its battery??

today is only the third day after exams, but i've already gone through about 3 rounds of retail therapy and still counting! my wallet should be on high alert mode now. YIKES! well, i think it's partly coz i only bought one skirt this whole sem, so i guess once i started, it was kinda hard to stop lol. and i'm not very keen on counting how much i've spent.. luckily we start work in 2 weeks so that i'd be kept occupied haha. but well, it is also because i've spent so much that i now have a negative motivation to start learning how to invest. yes i know, i've been harping on learning investment for more than a year, but this time, i'm really determined. shall start tmr!!

anyway i've made up my mind! hope i don't get murdered because of this decision =X

exams are over!! =) and i tasted sweet rain after a long drought when the examiner said 'pens down' yesterday. well, not exactly yesterday since i was already losing my motivation while studying for marketing.. oops haha.

anyway went out with ap mari and kris yesterday to eat coca! the food was really not bad la, just that i think they added lotsa msg in the soup coz ap and i felt really thirsty after that haha. then we watched 17 again! good film! it was really hilarious =) once again, i must insist that it's good to choose comedies as post-exam movies, coz u'd always have a good laugh.

oh before the movie:

me: watch la, i heard it's kinda nice

after the movie:

oh and believe it or not, i actually kept to my post-exam promise and went to exercise this morning! yup and it was definitely a very unconventional way to get my muscles moving again. lol. i went swimming with oakey at ecp! hahaha yes in the dirty sandy seawater! and my arm muscles are aching from carrying oakey back into the see at least 20 times! i think oak's at least 12kg.. but it's really a good workout lol and it was surprisingly fun haha.

anyway, i just want to say that i'm really glad accountants invented this thing called depreciation! it's really a super cool concept and i applied it super well today haha.

BTW i rebonded my hair! and it's SO FLAT now. omg i hope 2 weeks quickly pass.

SYDNEY (AFP) - - A pet dog that fell overboard in rough seas off Australia has been reunited with its owners after surviving alone on an island for four months, reports said.

Sophie Tucker, apparently named after a late US entertainer, fell overboard as Jan Griffith and her family sailed through choppy waters off the northeast Queensland coast in November.

The dog was believed to have drowned and Griffith said the family was devastated.

But out of sight of the family, Sophie Tucker was swimming doggedly and finally made it to St Bees Island, five nautical miles away, and began the sort of life popularised by the TV reality show "Survivor."

She was returned to her family last week when Griffith contacted rangers who had captured a dog that had been living off feral goats on the largely uninhabited island, in the faint hope it might be their long-lost pet.
When the Griffiths met the rangers' boat bringing the dog to the mainland they found that it was indeed Sophie Tucker on board.

"We called the dog and she started whimpering and banging the cage and they let her out and she just about flattened us," Griffith told the national AAP news agency.

"She wriggled around like a mad thing."

Griffith said that when the dog was first spotted on the island she had been in poor condition.

"And then all of a sudden she started to look good and it was when the rangers had found baby goat carcasses so she'd started eating baby goats," she said.

Sophie Tucker, a member of the Australian cattle dog breed, had been quick to readjust to the comforts of home, complete with airconditioning, Griffiths said.

"She surprised us all. She was a house dog and look what she's done, she's swum over five nautical miles, she's managed to live off the land all on her own," Griffiths said.

"We wish she could talk, we truly do."

seriously, today was a day when everything seemed to be running out. and what's worst is that all that threatened to run out were of immense importance today!! but i'm glad it struck me to put some cash into my wallet last night, otherwise i'd probably be feeling quite pathetic with only a few coins in it.

as my bro said, today is really a day of 'contingency plans' sigh. anyway i'm kinda tired to type out the whole series of events, it was a remarkably un-believable and frightening experience. but i did learn a whole deal today though.

so i think i'd just write what i've learnt from today's lessons:
1) never assume i'd be able to go home for lunch (i planned to reach home at 11, but i reached at 6pm instead)
2) always charge your phone battery or bring a charger (my hp batt threatened to die on me when the car ran super low on petrol and when i was in some godforsaken place in sg)
3) never procrastinate pumping petrol even if this means making a detour to thomson
4) petrol is consumed at an amazing rate when u drive at 90km/h
5) the distance from my bro's camp to the nearest shell kiosk is exactly, or rather, slightly less than 10km
6) drive at 60/70km if you want to conserve petrol
7) always keep a lookout for nearby petrol kiosks
8) street directories are never quite reliable
9) make friends with people who know where the petrol kiosks are
10) try not to beat the red light and make illegal u-turns when desperate
11) try not to hold the street directory and drive at the same time (i admit i'm not as pro as aloy who managed to find his way to parkway doing that lol)
12) armour camp MOs are anal and inflexible and unkind
13) i drove a total of 130km today (4 times back and forth ntu and the army camp)
14) inventors should invent ways in which cars can share petrol
15) i'm not sure if this works, but this is what i did to save petrol (coz on hindsight, i think these things save battery instead haha):
-turn off the aircon
-turn off the radio
-not turn on the headlights even though it was raining
-minimise my direction signals
16) and lastly, but most importantly, JUST BELIEVE (copyright anna haha), cross your fingers and hope for the best. (i found the kiosk when the petrol meter was blinking furiously and indicating that i had less than 1km of petrol left)

on a side note, my bro came up with an ingenious contingency plan in case the car really died halfway to the petrol kiosk. he suggested that i park the car at the side, hail a cab to the nearest kiosk, buy petrol and a FUNNEL, and take the cab back to the car. HAHAHA. funnel omg. that's sth else that i learnt today. do pple really use that when desperate?

anyway i'm so glad i'm meeting up with anna soon to play MAHJONG!! lol i realised all my friends are always so busy during school term. i shall make it a point to meet up with everyone this hols =) but first.. the dreaded exams. i hated biz law, and c law isn't any better bleh.
