pam and i ate at orange lantern just now lol. and guess what we saw???

initially we walked in and we had this short convo:
pam: eh how come the crowd here is so old ah?
me: no la, i think they're having some company function, those must be office pple
pam: really meh? companies come to such places?
me: of course la. what else can it be?
pam: i dunno, speed-dating?
me: what?? speed-dating?

then 2 of us starred at the long table next to us and realised that the guys and girls sat on separate rows! and they all seemed to be engaged in some sort of superficial conversation with 'sincerity' and 'earnestness' being written all over their faces.

not long later, we saw them take out a piece of paper to scribble some stuff. pam said they were exchanging numbers. O M G. after which, the guys moved one seat down. tsk tsk.

over our dinner, we observed a particular guy, a rather interesting character we concluded. and now let me share with you some tips on identifying if your date had been forced by his mum to attend such matchmaking sessions:

1) has a very sian face from the start of the session
2) starts to fold his arms across his chest
3) no longer has eye contact with his date
4) turns his body at a 45 degree angle
5) looks in every direction but his date
6) turns his body at a 90 degree angle
7) takes a deep breath when his date goes to the washroom
8) leaves abruptly after his date returns from the washroom and leaving her stranded

of course there were other couples who were yawning and looking obviously disinterested, but there were others who were really putting out their best. pam commented that the girls were all of ok standard, but the guys were well..haaha.. not. kk i mean they looked honest, but they're old.. at least 38 years to 40+. pam emphathised with the girl who was yawning after seeing who her 10minute date was. lol.

oh anyway did i mention that a lot of pple won't be around for my 21st even thought it's ironically the hols and end of internship?
